About us
Our history
Fundación Retutu -whose full legal name is Fundación Dios Junto al Retutu- began as a neighborhood soup kitchen with a simple idea: no kid should go without their snack. Over time, that same group of people started adding food deliveries for those living on the street, after-school support for the kids, an annual back-to-school drive, and gatherings that also make room for faith, just as our full name reflects. Today we mainly sustain two pillars: the everyday soup kitchen and helping people living on the street. Everything else -job training, healthcare, transportation- are projects we dream of developing in the future, as we're able to grow.
Mission
To accompany the families in our neighborhood with food, education and support, without setting aside the faith that sustains us as a community.
Vision
A neighborhood where no kid goes without their snack, no person on the street feels alone, and every family has a helping hand nearby when they need it.
